Administrative Coordinator

RZF4Rosalie Z. Fanshel

A Bay Area native, Rosalie Z. Fanshel has spent 15 years on (and in) the ground of the food movement in the Bay Area, Japan, and most recently, in Sydney, Australia. Highlights include 3 years as operations manager for the Berkeley Farmers’ Markets, and a year as operations manager at Food Connect Sydney. Prior to her time in Australia, Rosalie served as a program assistant for 3 years at UC Berkeley’s Institute of East Asian Studies and as program coordinator at UC San Diego’s Center on Emerging and Pacific Economies. Rosalie obtained her BA from Oberlin College in 2000. She is also an exhibiting artist and freelance illustrator. Her scholarly interests include representations of gender and sexuality within the sustainable agriculture movement.

Nora Gilbert PhotoNora Gilbert

Nora is a second year graduate student in the Master of Public Health (MPH)/ Master of City and Regional Planning (MCP) dual degree program. She graduated from Wesleyan University in 2010 with a BA in Sociology. She is interested in health equity and the relationship between the built environment and health, looking specifically at food systems.

Nora co-facilitates CityFood in the Department of City and Regional Planning, and is a member of GradFood, an interdisciplinary group  for students studying food across campus.
