Announcing Henry Brady as New Executive Committee Chair

We are pleased to announce Henry Brady, Dean of the Goldman School of Public Policy, as the new Chair of the Berkeley Food Institute Executive Committee. In this role, Dean Brady will lead the governing body overseeing BFI‘s strategic direction and will serve as a key advisor to BFI‘s Executive Director. As Class of 1941 Monroe Deutsch Professor of Political Science and Public Policy, he has written extensively on electoral politics, political participation, and social welfare.

“At UC Berkeley, we pride ourselves on not only outstanding academics, but in always striving to make a difference in the world. The Berkeley Food Institute epitomizes this public engagement, partnering with internal and external communities to tackle food issues on campus and in the larger political environment,” Brady stated in his welcoming address at the 2017 BFI Open House on February 13. “BFI is a unique model at UC Berkeley, bringing together experts and activists across seven schools and countless disciplines, endowing it with an uncommon capacity to influence and transform food systems.”

Congratulations, Dean Brady! We look forward to your continued leadership with the Berkeley Food Institute.
