UC Berkeley Food Pantry and Alameda County Food Bank Join Forces

Last month, the UC Berkeley Food Pantry officially partnered with the Alameda County Food Bank, which will begin supplying the campus food pantry with weekly deliveries of fresh produce, protein, and grains. According to BFI Affiliated Staff Ruben Canedo, who chairs UC Berkeley’s Basic Needs Security Committee, the number of students visiting the Food Pantry has tripled since relocating to the MLK Student Union in October 2016. The partnership will help provide nutritious food to the rising number of students who visit the pantry.
