Introducing BFI’s Communications Program Manager, Steven Low
Steven Low joins BFI with experience leading numerous communications and marketing campaigns in the climate and environmental justice sectors.
BFI is pleased to welcome Steven Low as our new Communications Program Manager. Steven is a veteran of the environmental justice and climate nonprofit sectors. He has led numerous high-impact campaigns and scaled up the communications and marketing programs at various nonprofits such as Communities for a Better Environment and Parallax Press.
His communications experience is supported by a strong academic foundation. Steven received his master’s degree in communications from San Francisco State University. He subsequently taught communications theory at the same institution where his curriculum focused on small group communication, rhetoric and public speaking. Prior to BFI, Steven served in the climate philanthropy field at ClimateWorks Foundation. At the ClimateWorks Steven led strategic communications for their Climate Diplomacy, Industry, Maritime Shipping and Sustainable Finance programs.
Policy and community stakeholders have long relied on BFI’s expertise. Steven will leverage BFI’s strong standing in the food and ag field to raise our profile among core audiences, while also reaching a broader swath of the food and farm systems community. Through targeted strategic communications, we can elevate just and sustainable food system transformations.
