Berkeley Mobile Foodscape Map Scavenger Hunt

Thursday, September 16, 2021, 12 – 1pm
Starting Point: Sproul Plaza

The UC Berkeley Foodscape Map and Berkeley Mobile have teamed up to bring the most important food-related services and facilities at UC Berkeley to your fingertips. Looking for the Food Pantry? A microwave to heat up your lunch? A garden to learn how to grow your food? Where to fill your water bottle before your next class? Find all of this and more by joining us on September 16 for a Foodscape Map scavenger hunt. Win prizes such as Cal Dining meal points, gift certificates to campus cafes, and more!

Register for the event here, and download Berkeley Mobile here. Form your own team in advance by each registering, or join a team on site at the event.

The scavenger hunt will meet at 12pm on Sproul Plaza. Look for the Berkeley Food Institute table.

About the UC Berkeley Foodscape Map: Since 2015, the Building Equitable and Inclusive Food Systems at UC Berkeley Project has brought together collaborators from across campus to help bridge the gaps between our campus food system and the communities it serves. The resulting democratically-produced, dynamic UC Berkeley Foodscape Map aims to reveal barriers in food-related learning and practice for marginalized community members, and highlight opportunities to overcome these obstacles. The map is a go-to resource for finding food and wellness-related needs on campus.

About Berkeley Mobile: Developed by the ASUC Office of the Chief Technology Officer, Berkeley Mobile aims to provide a one-stop shop for dining menus, library information, interactive campus resource maps, and more!

This event is cosponsored by: Berkeley Food Institute, ASUC Office of the Chief Technology Officer, Eat Well Berkeley, Healthy Beverage Initiative, and Cal Zero Waste.

We will follow the latest public health guidelines and campus policies to ensure that this event is as safe as possible. As these guidelines change frequently, we will email event registrants 24 hours prior to the event with an update.

Accessibility: All stops on the scavenger hunt are ADA compliant. If you will require accommodation to fully participate in the event, please contact Rosalie Z. Fanshel at rzfanshel@berkeley.edu or 510-610-8571 at least 10 days in advance.
