Green Water and Global Food Security

Policy Summary

This study addresses the growing global food demand and plant-soil interactions. It frames the three major constraints to global food security as land, blue water, and focuses on “green water,” or available water in soil. It posits that there needs to be further development of water management strategies that address positive plant–soil feedback loops.
