Policy Summary
This study examines the effects of small-scale water projects (such as diverting water for vineyards and heat protection) on aquatic ecosystems. The results of the study found that smaller scale projects are not as disruptive as large-scale water diversions, and that the timing and abundance of such diversions is an important factor in characterizing the changes in streamflow they may cause.
