Policy Summary

Implications for heritage and territory-based initiatives that have grown from the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy. Initiatives that codify cultural products without taking the social-organizational context into account (i.e. ensuring the representation of all actors, privileging local actors in the construction and governance of protective arrangements, considering local needs and priorities) risk becoming little more than “museums of production.”
