Policy Summary
This study finds that concurrent overweight or obesity and stunting is an important public health issue in low-income areas of rural Mexico beginning in early childhood, with low SES children being the most vulnerable. Public health programming and policy should be targeted accordingly and cautiously designed so as not to further excessive weight gain.
