UC Berkeley Food Pantry

The UC Berkeley Food Pantry is an emergency relief food supply for all UC Berkeley undergraduate and graduate students. Students can visit the pantry twice per month, each visit provides supplemental nutrition for 8-10 days. The pantry is not for students who need supplemental snacking food, but rather, core food support.

The pantry also holds CalFresh Clinics the first Friday of each month to enroll students in CalFresh, California’s food stamp program.

Bear Pantry

The Bear Pantry provides non-perishable food staples and grocery store gift cards to low-income UC Berkeley student families with dependent children. Donations are welcome.

University Health Services

University Health Services at UC Berkeley has compiled some food resources, including: 10 Tips to Eat Better on a Budget and 7-Day Meal Plan for Less than $5 a Day.

UC Berkeley Food Assistance Program

Currently enrolled graduate and undergraduate financial aid recipients who have short-term needs, such as during in-semester breaks, and have exhausted other funding options, including all student loan options, may be eligible for Cal 1 Card dollars. Eligible financial aid recipients need to have a complete financial aid file and are expected to have utilized all student loan options when submitting an application.
