May 12: Antibiotics in Livestock Production: The Intersection of Human and Animal Health
Professor Terry Lehenbauer, UC Davis
Dr. Terry Lehenbauer is Associate Professor, Director of the UC Davis Veterinary Medicine Teaching and Research Center (VMTRC) in Tulare, and the Director for the U Davis School of Veterinary Medicine Center for Food Animal Health. Dr. Lehenbauer currently involved in research to develop strategic decision tools for reducing antibiotic use for controlling mastitis in dairy cattle.
Doctor Thomas B. Newman, UC San Francisco
Dr. Thomas Newman is a Professor in the Division of Epidemiology at the University of California, San Francisco. His research over the past 20 years has applied principles of clinical epidemiology to common clinical problems in general pediatrics, including evaluation and treatment of jaundice in newborns, childhood cholesterol screening, and urinary tract infections in infants. He is particularly interested in the use of existing data to answer clinically relevant questions.

Professor Adela de la Torre, UC Davis
Dr. Adela de la Torre, an agricultural economist, is a professor in the Chicana/o Studies Department and director of the Center for Transnational Health at the University California, Davis, where she is also a Vice Chancellor of student affairs and camp diversity. Dr. de la Torre’s publications and research primarily focus on Chicano/Latin health issues, childhood obesity within rural Mexican origin communities, binational health, and science educational disparities and interventions for Chicana/o Latina/o students.
Assistant Professor Malo Hutson, UC Berkeley
Malo André Hutson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of City and Regional Planning at the University of California at Berkeley and Associate Director of the Institute of Urban and Regional Development (IURD) within the College of Environmental Design. Prior to joining the faculty at Berkeley, Professor Hutson was a Robert Wood Johnson Health and Society Scholar at the Center for Social Epidemiology and Population Health in the School of Public Health at the University of Michigan. He currently is a faculty affiliate of the Robert Wood Johnson Health and Society Scholars Program at the University of California, San Francisco and U.C. Berkeley. In addition Dr.Hutson is a faculty member of the Diversity and Health Disparities Cluster at Berkeley.
May 26: California Climate Change Scoping Plan: The Role of Agriculture
Professor Louise Jackson, UC Davis
Dr. Louise Jackson is Professor and Extension Specialist at the University of California, Davis. Her current research focuses on ecological intensification of agriculture in California and participatory processes for public involvement in managing agricultural landscapes, especially as relevant to climate change. She is engaged in translating research for policy at the regional, state and international levels.
Professor Dennis Baldocchi, UC Berkeley
Dr. Dennis Baldocchi is a Professor of Ecosystem Sciences in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management at University of California Berkeley. Current work focuses on: 1) the roles of management and ecological restoration on greenhouse gas fluxes of crops and wetlands; 2) the impact of weather, climate trends and variability, physiological stress, and structure and function on the greenhouse gas fluxes of savanna woodlands and annual grasslands; and 3) the upscaling and interpretation of fluxes across climatic and ecological gradients with the AmeriFlux and FLUXNET networks.
