The Graduate Certificate in Food Systems empowers new leaders with the capacity to create innovative solutions to pressing food and agriculture challenges. Building on UC Berkeley’s strength as a cross-disciplinary pioneer in food systems studies, the Graduate Certificate in Food Systems prepares masters and doctoral students to think critically about the multi-level, multi-system factors that impact food production, distribution, and consumption locally, nationally, and globally.

Education
Empowering the next food systems leaders
Students at UC Berkeley play an integral role in building our vision for a just and equitable food system. Our educational programming consists of on-campus and virtual educational events, workshops, and trainings. We offer administrative support to Berkeley Student Farms. We have helped design a Graduate Certificate in Food Systems and Food Systems Minor. We hire student staff, provide fellowships to students, and incorporate experiential, land-based learning into our programming.
